According to new allegations from a whistleblower, Ghislaine Maxwell, now completing a two-decade sentence for sex-trafficking crimes, is reportedly preparing a clemency request for consideration by the Trump administration.

Special Treatment Alleged at Correctional Facility

Congressional Democrats on the judicial oversight panel announced that a whistleblower provided evidence indicating the inmate is preparing the commutation application. Additionally, they mentioned she has been given preferential conditions at the minimum-security facility in the Lone Star State.

Congressman Jamie Raskin, the top Democrat on the committee, stated in a official statement that the facility's chief was assisting the convict with copying, printing, and sending documents to aid her effort for clemency.

Specific details of the clemency request remain unknown, Raskin added.

Claimed Perks and Special Accommodations

Raskin states that, according to the whistleblower, the prisoner has been receiving “customized” meals that are “personally delivered” to her living area, and the supervisor has individually organized exclusive visits for her and her visitors.

The visits allegedly include a “special cordoned-off area” for visitors and “an assortment of snacks and refreshments” for her guests.

Maxwell’s visitors were also reportedly permitted to carry electronic devices, which the congressman characterized as an exceptional measure given the security risk and potential for unsupervised contact.

In one alleged instance, when communications failed for other prisoners, she was given specific instructions about who she should tell her contacts to call and how personnel would connect the communication to her.

Warden as “Personal Secretary”

The whistleblower further reportedly told House Democrats that when Maxwell wanted to review and edit documents “quickly”, she reportedly employed the official as her private aide.

The news release indicates that Maxwell’s correspondents would send files directly to the warden, who would hand them over to Maxwell, who would review and edit them and provide them back to the official to scan and provide to the original sender.

Additional Privileges Alleged

Further perks allegedly granted to her include time to “play with” a trainee assistance dog – a perk typically prohibited – as well as exclusive nighttime use to the facility's gym.

Maxwell’s attorney has not yet replied to a inquiry regarding the whistleblower’s claims.

In a statement, the presidential office said that it “will not discuss” on potential clemency requests.

“Per the President's remarks, granting clemency to the convict is not something he has considered,” the spokesperson noted.

Recent Background

Recently, it was reported that Maxwell told close associates in emails from prison that she was more content at the new prison than her former location.

In August, she was transferred from a secure facility in Tallahassee, Florida to the less restrictive prison in Texas, where most inmates are incarcerated for financial and non-violent crimes.

The transfer, which authorities called as “unprecedented”, occurred just days after she was questioned about the Jeffrey Epstein investigation by the deputy attorney general, the official, who also once acted as Donald Trump's private attorney.

This questioning came as the administration was facing mounting pressure to release more documents related to the Epstein investigation and amid intense speculation around the President's own personal ties to the fallen billionaire and convicted sex offender, who was found dead in a New York jail in 2019 while awaiting prosecution on sex-trafficking charges.

Lawmaker Reactions

Through the statement, the congressman also announced that he had dispatched a communication to Trump, demanding answers about the insider's claims, and urged the chief executive to reject the clemency appeal.

“You should not grant any form of clemency to this convicted and unrepentant sex offender,” Raskin wrote in the document. “The government must not offer her with room service, with puppies to play with, with government agents waiting on her every need, or with any special treatment or facility benefit at all.”

Raskin requested that Blanche attend a public congressional hearing to discuss the revelations and also presented several inquiries to the President.

Raskin asked whether Trump had talked about a possible clemency for the convict with Blanche or others, whether he had instructed him or anyone else to provide her with the move or special conditions in detention, and whether Maxwell, her attorneys, relatives or agents have made any commitments to the President or his legal team.

The representative requested for a reply to the inquiries by the specified date.

Last month, the nation's highest court declined to hear an petition from Maxwell on her trafficking verdict.
